review 1: Six Suspects is more of a drama than a mystery. And therein lies it's undoing. Six different stories with their respective twists and turns converge at a point where they merge only to have different threads hanging out. Some of the stories are so long drawn, it is unpalatable. The author's Q&A worked because it was a logical extension while here they seem force fitted. And the climax not so clever.Overall, with comparable books written before, this book is an average read.
review 2: I had loved Slumdog Millionaire and while I have never read Q&A , still I have always believed that Vikas Swarup brought contemporary India into a Hard Cover which won accolades all over the planet, and this was the sole reason for which I picked 'Six Suspects'. I was expecting a fa
... morest-paced crime thriller, something that would keep me guessing at every twist n turn, but then this book fails miserably to my expectations. I won't complain about the writing skills of Swarup rather I would say he was great at times. It's about the story and the way he approached a crime saga that disappointed me. Careless introduction of characters, out of the context scenarios and pathetic ending made it prosaic. You can surely give this one a miss and even I am not planning to read "The accidental apprentice" any time soon. less
