review 1: My first by Vivian Arend and I thought it was very well done. I don't know if she actually has any experience with climbing or search and rescue, if not she did some outstanding research. All aspects of the story were very believable. It was written like the author had/has some experience on the subject matter. That aside we have the story of Rebecca 'Becki' James and Marcus Landers. Both Becki and Marcus are both climbers and have both experienced a trauma. Becki lost her lover and climb partner and Marcus lost a limb or part of one depending on your definition. Becki has lost her memory of the accident she was apart of, but Marcus has to deal with his daily. Becki is offered a job working as climbing instructor, by Marcus's brother David. Unbeknownst to David the two hav... moree history. The start to work together and realize their old attraction has not gone away, and when things heat up they really heat up. All the hot and steaminess aside, the are really good for each other. Another good thing is the story is full of secondary characters that you will want to learn more about, but they don't overwhelm or take over the story. This is definitely a story about Becki and Marcus. You better believe you will need a fan or a smoke after some of these scenes.(Whichever you prefer.)
review 2: Such a good book from an author I have liked for a long time. Started her with the Granite Lake Wolves and moved on from there. This is a different venue (Banff, Canada) and with a different kind of dynamic. Yet there is the reunion of old lovers and added in the changes that have occurred in each of their lives which has impacted the way they respond to one another. Lots of emotion and good loving, lots of struggles and the ups and downs of what it means to be human and in a significant relationship. It's also about conquering fear and that's always a victory when we can do that. less
