review 1: Great read that will tug at your heart. You can not help but to fall in love with Eli Deacon and Seth Jacobs. The two meet under the strangest of circumstances, but they find a love that just will not stop. When faith finds you that one special person, there is nothing that can change the pull that you will have for one another and this book even though it is fiction it will leave you with a heart full of love and joy.
review 2: So, I’m against the norm for this book. Everyone seems to love it. And I agree it has lots of potential, in fact it has 90% of what makes up the MM Romance Genre in one book. The list here follows:- Smart/Well to Do Closeted dude stuck in small town due to being a good boy to daddy, well loved by others [Check]- Gay Man in small t... moreown with convenient at job that allows mobility/flexibility [Check]- Jealous ‘straight friend’ that stirs up trouble [Check]- Jealous friend trouble quelled by *gasp* another romantic interest! –possible sequel/series book! [Check] *eye roll*- Miracle baby that survives all odds against it (a high/drunk mother tossed out of windshield at high speeds, baby delivered early, with the only complication being it was born early)[Check]- Major loss/deaths of important family members [Check]- Miracle baby ending up with accidentally biological gay dads to avoid all possible legal mess up that could drag plot and morale.[Check] - Instalove with good smut scenes that happen after a practical stranger, literally, walks into your house[Check]- Surprisingly supportive people but not enough that said couple moves to ‘friendlier’ lands [Check]- A long lasting crush from childhood that is base for instalove [Check]- A long awaited coming out (I'm not really bi! version) – semi forced [Check]- Extremely friendly/accommodating/loving hospital staff for being in a small ‘church’ town [Check]- Funny twist of ‘fate’ [Check]- Woes of homeownership + ultra quick homesale process [Check]IT ALL HAPPENS IN UNDER A MONTH or so – after two major DEATHs!!! It’s like being swept up in a tornado of MM Romance and landing in San Franfantasico. My point is there was too much “plot” for 250pages & two authors tag teaming it. It’s like the cover of the book, a bunch of stock photos (plot) photo shopped together to make a standard manchest package. It’s everything that’s popular in mm romance sans the hardcore BDSM and paranormal. I don’t know why I’m being so hard on this specific book, because trust me, there are many more out there like this. Probably because of the general high rating that it has than the other books.4 stars to me sounds like something refreshing, not the usual.I really wish the authors/editors had taken the time to pull some stuff out and groom other bits. You don’t have to put everything in one book. less
