review 1: This book was a fair read however, the plot was sort of redundant and predictable. Every few chapters one of Lydia's choices for a future husband would show up to 'court' her followed quickly by the other so she was always confused. I found this a tad bit annoying. I did enjoy reading this book except for that minor detail. I will continue to read Wanda's Amish fiction as I enjoy it so much but I have enjoyed some of her other books much better.
review 2: If it were half as long and the reader didn't mis-pronounce "ja" over and over and over, it would have been a good book. It is pronounced "Ya", not "Cha". Being an Amish book, this came up a LOT. Also, for the firstt 3/4 of the book, the reader gave the main character a terribly whiny voice. It made her so
... moreund pathetic. Another thing, how many bad things can happen to one family? Enough was enough. Finally, one of the side characters kept complaining of back pain, but nothing ever came of it. Unless the audio book skipped a couple of tacks, that was never resolved. Without those things, it would have been quite good. less

Despite being somewhat of an emotional rollercoaster, it was a good read and had a wonderful ending.
