review 1: This book is OK. Reminded me a little of Rebecca, also a little bit of the house at riverton. But alban house is no manderley, and we know our narrators name this time :) I think the author over emphasized the foreshadowing, and there is one angle to the story that is just so completely unrealistic, it's ridiculous. It is a bit suspenseful and a good ghost story to read on a rainy day, and the ending is pretty good. Overall I'm glad I read this book!
review 2: I wasn't really all that scared by this story. There were moments that were thrilling, but it didn't give me the creepy crawlies except for maybe the very end and then only a little bit. I think the author did too good of a job casting doubt on the supernatural bits in the story. Is it supernatural?
... more Is it just a crazy person? The very end throws it back to the supernatural, but it might've been too little too late by that point. less

Fun read. Suspenseful. Fun on a cold, winter night.
