review 1: This book was just what I needed. It was so emotional, beautiful and full of truth that slap you hard on your face. I never highlighted so much as I did in this book Everett words were perfection and honest this are some of my favorite: "You're ice cold. You don't care about anyone, not even yourself." "In here" he said, pushing on the skin above my heart, "You're ten below zero. And you're closer to death than I am""Some of us have scars that are't meant to be seen" "I see a girl who hides behind her hair, who doesn't give two fucks about her looks. You think you can sit back and watch everyone else and they don't get to watch you. But guess what, Parker? You are hiding in plain sight. I see you. I see the parts you don't want anyone t see." "Don't you dare to criticize h... moreow I am spending the final days of my life when you're not even living""I want one sweet moment, one in my memory to hold on to when my soul leaves this earth" Among many others.Parker is a girl with scars by an attack she doesn't remember but that have left her numb and just existing and not living shutting down every feeling or emotion Until she receive a text message sent to the wrong number by Everett.Everett is rude, pushy and arrogant. He chooses to wear all black, all the time, as if he’s waiting to attend a funeral. Probably because he is.Everett is dying. And he’s spending his final days living, truly living. In doing so, he’s forcing her to feel, to heal. To come face to face with the demons she suppressed in her memory. He hurts me, he fulfills me, he completes me. And still, he's dying.Truly an amazing story!!!
review 2: I heard so many good things about this book. I give it 4 stars. I loved the references to He Found Me which is another book by Whitney. I loved Parker and Everett together. I felt like their relationship needed a little bit of spice but it was sweet. I love their trip across the country. The end completely shocked me and I was almost in tears. Whitney has some twist and turns that you don't see coming. I am excited to see what Whitney has in store next! less
