review 1: I had forgotten how self centered Taita is in these stories! Yet again he is steering the course of Egyptian history to try and free the kingdom from the Hyskos. This time he has to travel to ancient Babylon to meet King Nimrod and then Crete to make a deal with the Supreme Minos. He will do just about anything to re-establish the full kingdom of Egypt including marrying off the sisters of the Pharaoh to another powerful monarch. Plenty of battles along the way.
review 2: Spoilers****I really enjoyed the story until the middle of the book, thought of this something refreshing after the disastrous Clive Cussler novels. I thought found my new favorite writer. Its a rude awakening, should have known after the part where the Goddess Inana appears in around page 250
... more something. It was downward spiral afterward till the 2 page anti-climax war against mighty Hykosos. Sorry Mr. Smith, it seems like someone hurried you or something. I started rolling my eye's last couple of pages. Knew the plot twist miles away, lucky for you, Zara's well trained your brat princes Tehuti. I guess i should read the River God!!! Seems like 1000 times better than this crap. You also end up like Mr. Cussler, ghost-writing with amateurs. less

Great book! The abrupt ending could mean that there will be a Desert God Part II.
