review 1: It's not been easy for me to rate this novel. At the beginning I was not really sure I liked it, because it was too slow-paced, and it was not quite clear where all that was heading to. Then the second part engaged me more and more, although there were still too many things I didn't grasp, it was all quite obscure. But in the end almost everything becomes clear, and as other have already said this book requires a second read to have a clear picture of it all.
review 2: I couldn't listen to this any longer. If I had actually read this I don't think I would have gotten past page 50. But, listening to this in the car on my daily commute I had to force myself to go to the next CD. I'm sure that Blatty in his latter years is trying to show some new insights into rel

Moments of real Blatty magic as always. Good and at times very good but not great.
