What Kills Me
review 1: What Kills Me was a refreshing read - a heroine who can take care of herself; main characters who are - gasp - funny as well as likeable; and enough action that you're constantly hoping for a movie version while still entirely enjoying being inside the characters' heads. I've read other complaints that Zee was too naive at the beginning - but that's the point, I think, that we see her transformation from naive tourist to vengeful-yet-hilarious vampire. The requisite romance also feels fresh, considering our heroine doesn't need anyone to 'save' her - and the hero is a reluctant and sarcastic ride-along at first.A great, smart addition to the vampire world. The locales don't hurt either, and I can't help but love that the heroine is a Canadian girl (though we don't travel t... moreo Canada - yet?). Definitely recommended!
review 2: I loved this book. The characters were gripping and nicely developed. They were believable. The plot is understandable and there is a perfect amount of detail added. This new spin on vampires was amazing and left me craving more.I loved how the characters interacted with each other.I was reading this book and I kept losing track of the time because it was that good. When I bought it, I had liked the cover but I wasn't sure how much I'd like the book itself. Now I'm glad I gave it a chance because it was very well written with a perfect blend of teen angst and action as well as blood. Vampire novel, you just gotta have that blood ^.~ less
