review 1: We human beings perceive ourselves to be more incapable than we truly are. Adversity pushes us...unwillingly...to become stronger. I love Olivia's strength of character. I couldn't put this book down, just live I couldn't put the Olivia, Mourning book down. I dropped one star because I felt the ending far too abrupt. I realize that it was deliberately open-ended to entice the reader to the 3rd volume, however, it needed more build up and "meat". I can't wait for the next volume!
review 2: Detroit 1841 _ Book #2 - Olivia Series - After the very emotional drama book one. Olivia realized this was life she decided to strive to better herself emotionally, socially, and financially. She started a new life in Detroit. This book was well written, each charact... moreer was well described. Olivia took numerous journeys the author did an excellent job on describing the trips. The author did a good job on her research on the underground railroad. A very good plot and very entertaining. The author is writing a third book in the series now. Enjoy. less
