review 1: Book 6 in the Otherworld/ Sisters of the Moon series. Ugh, I thought that this book would never end! Still, the backstory is good and progressing nicely but the main story in each book is killing me. If you're loosing interest in the series then quit now before getting this one. If you're enjoying the series then grab ahold of this and get reading because it's comparable to the previous books in the series.
review 2: The long running story of the D'Artigo sisters has captured my attention. The sisters are each half fae and half human which makes their powers strong yet unpredictable. The eldest, Camille, is a witch whose powers sometime short circuit or backfire. Delilah, the middle sister, is a werecat with two forms. Delilah shifts uncontrollably when she
... more's upset. The youngest, Menolly, was a former acrobat and spy before she was tortured and forcibly turned into a vampire. The sisters are all living earthside and each have a different day job. They actually work for the Otherworld Intelligence Agency. They are attempting to stop Shadow Wing, a powerful demon, from acquiring the spirit seals which control the portals. If Shadow Wing gains these portals it will open both Earth and Otherworld (land of fairies) to be overrun by demons. Currently, Shadow Wing has one seal and that's one too many.Demon Mistress is told from Menolly's perspective. I love her pull no punches, tell it like is it attitude, more novels should have characters like her. Menolly's day job is owner of the Wayfarer. It's a bar that caters to Otherworlders and the human who seem addicted to them. While clearing out a storage area in the bar, Menolly discovers the belongings including a diary from a former Wayfarer bartender. After a bit of digging she finds out the bartender disappeared under shady circumstances. After finding a ghoul close to their home and some other suspicious happenings it's clear that someone is practicing necromancy. Add in a group of humans meddling in dark magic and obsessed with summoning Shadow Wing and the stakes get even higher. The series is well written with strong, cohesive plots and characters that continue to develop along the way. The pages are brimming with action, romance, mystery, and strong familial ties. Galenorn has created a world well worth visiting in the Sisters of the Moon/Otherworld series. less
