review 1: Yasutaka Tsutsui es un verdadero hallazgo. El eslavón perdido entre la crudeza y la lucidez de la generación de posguerra y el relajo de las nuevas generaciones de escritores japoneses. Desde su metaficción Tsutsui se mofa, critica e invita a la reflexión. Todos los relatos del volumen son efectivos, pero "Los límites de la felicidad" es la radiografía más descarnada y sardónica que he leído sobre el capitalismo, el mundo contemporáneo y la familia.
review 2: There is some real good stuff among his short stories (Rumors About Me, oppressive, surreal, the stuff of mightmares, same for The Very Edge of Happiness. The Last Smoker, 1984 meets Stephen King´s Quitters Inc.) but most of it is just plain tiring, with some of them straight in the WUT??? categ... moreory (Bravo Herr Mozart, Farmer Airlines, Bear´s Wood Main Line, just to name a few). The title novella; boring as fuck with patches of downright gross. I'm only finishing it because I've read 80% of the book so I'm not gonna give up now but jeez, what a waste of my time! less
