review 1: One of my favorite volumes so far (although, who am I kidding, I have so many favorites I've lost count).Highlights from Vol. 24:- Someone else can see (and touch!) the grudge Kyoko. Ooooo.- Reino. (Is it weird that he's a highlight for me?) I mean, I don't like him, not really. But then, I also love him. He's an interesting character. I want Kyoko to take him down without resorting to using "Mr. Tsuruga's" name. Although I also find it highly amusing that he's so scared of Ren, especially since Reino is a "demon lord" and all that.- Yashiro. But then, he's always a highlight for me. ;) I love that he's such a champion of Ren & Kyoko's "love."- Kyoko x Moko moments. I ship this friendship so hard! Kyoko describing to Ren & Yashiro how she was going to spend the night at Mo... moreko's was adorable.- Ren's cool exterior slipping a few times. JUST TELL HER YOU LOVE HER!- Kyoko. Kyoko. Kyoko. I could seriously follow her story forever. I don't care if it goes nowhere for a very long time, because everything she does is amazing.
review 2: You've really got to hand it to the series for making Valentine's Day palatable. Kyoko is not interested in love, which, for me, is what makes the series work. (I mean, on top of the acting challenges that are handled so well and the supernatural elements that sneak in every once and awhile but never overpower the story.)I relate to the character because, even though she claims to never want to love again, she still believes in fairytales and has those big plans for her first kiss. I admire her conviction. less
