review 1: OH MY GOD YES!!!!!!!!!!! This was the best volume!! THE DRAMA!! THE DRAMA!! I LIIIIIIIVE!!!!!Lol, okay, calming down now. But...whoa!! At first, I was really annoyed by the whole predator scene with the frontman of Vie Ghoul. Before he found Kyoko and was on his way, I rolled my eyes and though "Here we go shojo...always the same..." and then when the scene DID happen, I got even more angry cuz Kyoko was just standing there instead of being her independent self. I thought "Even the independent, strong women need saving from a male" but then she got super bad ass (picture to come) and I got super excited!! The whole scene turned out a lot better than I was expecting, and I totally got sucked in!!Kyoko looked amazing this volume in that Mio outfit! When she's playing Mio, th... moreat's originally how I expected Kyoko to be since Nakamura-san was always apologizing for her evil, depressing main character (we've had this discussion a few volumes ago). I was happy Nakamura-san put her in that dress cuz it made the scene with the Vie Ghoul Beagle guy even more amazing! And just for the record, I'm totally Team Sho. I like Sho waaaay more than I like Ren. I mean, we all know in the end she'll pick Ren, but I always tend to root for the underdog. I think I like Sho better cuz he's immature and stupid (which is weird cuz I hate those things) but it makes things more light hearted and funny compared to Ren's intense seriousness. And in reality, Kyoko and Sho go together better anyway, but often weird couplings happen in literature for reasons I don't understand other than it's not real so I guess it'll work? Anyway, loved this volume!! So dramatic and exciting!!(I have to edit this review later to add panel stills that I loved, cuz there were a few of them!)
review 2: Volume 15 stars a brief story arc that I don't like that much. Reino, the lead singer for Reino stalks Kyoko and attacks her. He gets to the point where he's unzipping the back of Kyoko's dress while she just stands there terrified. He would have gone further, but the two of them start arguing and then Sho arrives. The scene manages to be both disturbing and ridiculous. I realize that Skip Beat is silly to begin with, but this goes a little too far for me.My favorite part of the volume, though, is Reino and Kyoko's argument while he's attacking her. She realizes that he's only doing this to get at Sho. Reino wants to destroy Sho. This statement releases all of Kyoko's demons. The only person who gets to destroy Sho is Kyoko. "He is my prey!"Ren is mostly absent from this volume, but there is a sweet scene between him and Kyoko. The night before the attack occurs, Kyoko is scared. Reino is stalking her and she doesn't know what to do. She calls Ren up for comfort. A part of her wants to tell Ren how scared she is, but she can't do it. Still, Ren knows something is wrong and gets quite worried. I love how devoted he is towards her. He hurries from his set to get to Kyoko. Once Ren arrives, even the reader feels safer. The two of them are just great. less

Crazy plot twists and a cliff hanger. I'm almost out of books. Hope I can get more at the library.
