review 1: We finally see Kyoko screwing something up. She oversleeps and shows up late to work. The girl is human after all! She feels terribly guilty. And being Kyoko, she is not so much afraid of being scolded. Instead, she's upset that she wasn't scolded enough and that she didn't have time to properly apologize to her co-stars.The synopsis makes it sound like Ren is furious at her for being late. That's not accurate. Kyoko is so upset over her mistake that it effects her acting. Ren doesn't care that she was late. It happens and he knows she won't do it again. What he is upset by is that she's let her emotions effect her performance. He calls her on it. Not so much in anger, but more in tough love - correcting her, because he knows she'll learn.Kyoko moves on to her new role as ... morethe bully Natsu. Nothing is going right. Kyoko can't create the right Natsu. She's not feeling it. And it shows. Her co-stars are mad at her for being late. Mostly though, they're jealous that she has become such a prominent player so quickly and think she's getting special treatment. One costar in particular, Chiori is set to wreak havoc on Kyoko's performance. Chiori convinces Kyoko that she should interpret Natsu however she sees fit and fight the director to agree with her point of view. Chiori is smug, because she knows that the director will definitely not agree with Kyoko's interpretation. What will happen? Will Kyoko succeed in her new role as Natsu? We shall see...
review 2: GAAAAH! This book squeezed the giggles out of me!Anyway...(sigh), I just wanna say that my library...doesn't have ALL the volumes of Skip Beat.I mean I read volume 17 and I had to skip over volumes 18 and 19 because...I couldn't find them. I THINK I skipped volume 20.Anyway, I guess it is a little easy to try and understand the plot even though there aren't any "Story so far" summaries...sigh.But yeah, this book SERIOUSLY MADE ME GIGGLE. I mean in this volume, Kyoko is playing the role of Natsu (a leader of a group of bullying girls) and she looks a little different in order to be able to act her part. I mean she had her hair black a few volumes ago because of her role of Mio, but this time it's just different.Dude it's AMAZING how she can change herself like that. I WANNA BE ABLE TO DO THAT!I love Skip Beat's lessons! I mean the stories teach really good life lessons, but in order for these things to happen, Kyoko ends up having to act completely different from the way she usually is.These changes are usually REALLY REALLY HUGE. The way she changes for Natsu makes her seem like a totally new person! If I wasn't paying attention to how KYOKO is the one changing, I would have looked at Natsu/Kyoko and said "Haaah! Who is this new character and where did she come from?!"But yeah, this volume was pretty understandable! YAAAH, lalalalala! less
