review 2: This started out nicely. However, considering the endlessly boring "Here be Dragons" that I had struggled with for weeks before picking this up, I suspect pretty much anything would have appe
... moreared to start off nice. With "nice" I mean "creepy". Three friends travel to a remote fishing village accesible only by boat, to renovate an old house that they intend to turn into a bed and breakfast. The man who brought them over tried to warn them against the house, but no avail. Before long the three friends feel that they are not alone. In a proper town, the psychiatrist Frey, struggles to overcome the loss of his son Benni three years ago. The body of the boy was never found. Somehow his disappearance is connected to vandalism at a school - exactly the same as one which happened many years previously, at the time of another disappearance.I didn't quite know what to make of the supernatural elements in this book. I thought they would be explained away at some point. It's a perfectly okay book, but the genre mixing of ghost story and crime is a little off-putting for me. I have another book by Yrsa, I'll try that one too before I make up my mind whether to ditch this author permanently or not. less

Interesting but felt it was a little slow paced, disappointed at the ending!

pretty fast read, little slow in parts, but just suspenseful enough.
