review 1: Cuuuute. I'm feeling Instalove for this series. Usually it is a young girl who can see demons in the manga I've read, and usually she falls in love with one. It's pretty refreshing to have a male character who isn't obsessed with fighting or leveling up (basically a non-shonen male character). It's also really cute how we get each spirit's backstory and Natusme tries to help them out and understand them. This is a great read for younger teens (so far) with only one random inappropriate sex joke which I will chalk up to different cultural sensitivities. Also, and most importantly, I love the art. Mostly beautiful, it can also get super creepy.Best dialogueGiant homicidal cat spirit to another demon "I should be the one to eat Natsume, he promised!"Natsume "No, I didn'... moret..."
review 2: if you have watched the anime it will bring back memories of some of your favorite episodes. natsume is a heart warming slice of life series that will turn even your worst days around. will definitely be on the lookout for the next volume as volume 1 only covers the first 4 chapters. im sure most have read scanlations of manga before but seriously if you enjoy the series and wish to support it buy it legally. if you want to read it digital vizmanga makes a nice app that supports various platforms. less
