review 1: I have always been fascinated with the ancient times, especially the pre-Aztec era. Therefore, getting this book was not much a hurdle for me. And I gotta say, I was very impressed with the level of accuracy in the author's depictions and descriptions regarding the setting etc. This was a definite plus on my side. As for the writing and the story: I found it equally as good. The writing flows exceptionally well and the story is intriguing and captivating. Well worth my 5 stars!
review 2: As the title states, this book deals with a pre-aztec civilization, and though it's a story about warriors, there isn't actually much fighting in it. Which is ok. It got you hooked on the characters early on - mischievous son, warrior chief father and strong, independent wife. ... moreThe chapters took turns between the three characters and overall it was an enjoyable read. Makes me want to continue in the series. less
