review 1: With many Jane Austen variations a reader must ask themselves: How much passion and/or sex am I willing to believe that Elizabeth Bennet and Mr Darcy engage in prior to wedded bliss. In the case of this book, you would want to be able to 'buy' into the fact that they would be willing to round the bases, so to speak..As I have said before, I am definitely not a prudish women, and do read many books that have as much or more 'passion' in them, and I don't blink and eye..But, my question here would be: Is it at all accurate to say that they would be going on as they did in this book? I tried to do some research and see about sex in Jane Austen's time and found very little information, and of course there were people at that time period doing much more than what's done in t... morehis book outside of wedlock.. I just wonder if someone like Mr Darcy would do it?
review 2: This is my first time reading a book that explores other plots in the Pride & Prejudice theme. I had just finished reading Jane Austen's version and wanted to keep the theme going. You do need to have read P&P in order to have enough background in the story as this story doesn't start at the "beginning."The writing is very well done, I was captivated and taken back to the world of Jane Austen by the writer. I wanted to know where the story was going and how they were going to get their HEA. All of the characters were continued and their characters kept mostly true to the original works (Oh how I dislike Mrs. Bennett). There are some very steamy love scenes that are well written and imaginative. I wasn't prepared for this in a retelling of Austen and am not sure I personally care for it. I did think a few times the story had a more modern feel to it than the period of the story would allow for. less

This P&P variation was pretty stupid and not near as funny as some of Reynolds others.

This was a reread for me and I loved it just as much as the first time.
