review 1: One would think the discovery of anything which survived Atlantis would be a treasure to civilization. Well, maybe and maybe not. AG Riddle has written a nail-biter about the lost continent, found both in the research lab, and on an abandoned Nazi sub in Antarctica> But, oh oh, I can't reveal too much!! The nail biter part is because he introduces the classic set of tension: the good, who do research and the bad who want to exploit the element. But, this is done on a layer-by-layer basis. What begins quickly becomes rich and then richer with suspense as we read. He brings in character after character and we start to think: I'm lost! But, author to the rescue! He ties all the ribbons neatly and all is clear, plots resolved a la the History Channel's best documentary. Rememb... moreer the History Channels story on "the Nazi Bell" ? That's part of the ingredients, but I've probably angered both those who read this book as well as the author by that reference. So, I'll say, it you like history and mystery and suspense, it's on Kindle right now! Tom
review 2: Очень запутанная книжка - скачет из главы в главу с одного героя на другого, с места на место и с времени в другое время. Временами вообще теряешь нить повествования. Ну и в одной книге нацисты, атланты, путешествия во времени, террористы, мировая закулиса и теория эволюции прыжком - это перебор. На вторую и третью книжку в серии даже на буду замахиваться. Цитата из последней трети книги, для понимания как автор умеет запутать:“Pierce names her Katherine Warner. The others take new names: Patrick Pierce becomes Tom Warner, Mallory Craig becomes Howard Keegan, and Dieter Kane becomes Dorian Sloane.” При этом про всех восьмерых раньше уже были эпизоды в разных временах и местах, понять теперь как кто кому кем приходится - непросто. less
