review 1: The plot was ok, but the writing itself had flaws. All the foreign words and poems, which really could have been written in English so I didn't have to keep going to the back for the translations. Some foreign words were fine, when they were defined within the book, but having to keep going to translations bogged it down. The viewpoints kept changing, which I didn't really like. It was ok, but not great.
review 2: While the story has an interesting enough plot line, it was difficult to follow. Words and phrases in what I can assume is Italian - sometimes even whole paragraphs of it - were used frequently (every 1-2 pages). As someone with essentially no prior exposure to the language, I repeatedly found myself struggling to understand what was going on, which d
