review 1: Alex Kava's books have a higher than usual evil bad guy theme, even when considering it is a murder mystery and by definition someone has to die. She has several series, and this is a Maggie O'Dell book, which tend to be kinder than the rest. That said, it is a sadistic serial killer on the move, and he has Maggie in his sights. Lucky for her, so does a hunky dog handler and she lives to fight another day. Enjoyable, but beware of reading too much late at night.
review 2: Alex Kava has been my favorite author for over 10 years. Stranded is just another reminder to why she is my favorite author. From the beginning you are on a wild roller coaster and it's not over until the very last page. We begin right where Maggie left off in Fireproof, hunting another ps... moreychopath that presented himself in the previous novel of the series. Maggie begins playing a dangerous game with this serial killer who is getting closer and closer to her without even knowing it. Definitely a great read and can't wait for the next Maggie O'Dell novel :) less
