review 1: This book was very hard to finish. The president of Renault, the automotive company, is found dead inside the freezer at a famous restaurant in Paris. Capucine LeTellier is a policewoman who is assigned to the case because she is married to a food critic and knows all the ins and outs of Paris' restaurants. Lousy and erratic plot. Sexist author who thinks a woman with breasts uses them instead of brains. Lousy characters who have no redeeming qualities. No thank you.
review 2: A very interesting murder mystery. The characters were very well developed; the asides regarding French cuisine mouthwatering (although they were more than just asides); and the murder solution very elusive. I liked the book, but I was confused a good bit of the time...I guess that'
... mores good in a murder mystery. I wish there weren't so many usages of the 'f' word, but I guess that too is 'realism.' The characters were interestin enough that I'll continue on with another book in the series. less
