review 1: Swedish noir thriller with an international cast of thieves, smugglers, drug lords, corrupt cops etc. The story begins as Mrs. Sophie Brinkmann, RN who has a teenage son, gets attached as she always does to a patient, Hector Guzman. Guzman, head of Andalusian Enterprises, comes back after being released from the hospital to renew the acquaintance. They become friends, he wines her and dines her. So far, so good. But it soon becomes apparent that he's on the wrong side of the law and this is where I don't see why upper middle class Sophie doesn't drop him. The plot is too intricate to describe and there are so many characters and such complicated relationships that I suggest you carefully annotate the character list the author provides at the front of the book. If you lik... moree the genre and you like complexity at a rapid clip, you'll like this book.
review 2: U suštini - nije mi se dopala... Čitajući, imala sam utisak da sam u filmu Quentina Tarantina (ovo je možda i dobar scenario za njega, da od loše knjige napravi svoj film), a da ne pominjem skokove sa jednog na drugog negativca čija imena nisam upamtila, jer su bili izlišni. Toliko brutalnih scena su me prosto umorila i zgrozile. A sve one nepotrebne nazive kvartova i ulica u Stokholmu koje nisam uspela pročitati jednostavno sam preskakala. Neuverljivi likovi, nisam se mogla vezati za nijednog, totalno antipatični, prosto nisam mogla odabrati stranu - ko je zlobniji, neprijatniji, nasilniji... Glavna heroina totalni promašaj!
