review 1: I love love love the Darkest Minds series but I have found that most of the time novella's don't add a whole lot to the series and I normally don't read them, but since this series is one of my favorites I tried the first novella and was sorely disappointed... after reading "In Time" I almost skipped this book. I am SO glad I didn't! The first novella lacked the depth of the main books in the series, and NOTHING happened or added to the story but this book more than made up for it. You don't have to read the series *though you should ;)* to read this book, it is an AWESOME story all on it's own and makes me wish that it has been a full length novel. I can only repeat what other reviewers said... Bracken - you better resolve that ending in the next ... morebook!
review 2: I don’t know what possessed me to think that there would be any semblance of a happy ending. I kind of forgotten how soul-crushingly devastating the endings are whenever Alexandra Bracken is involved. That being said, the whole novella was absolutely amazing. If you haven’t read the Darkest Minds series, you need to go do that right now because it’s INCREDIBLE, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.Okay, I only have one question. Will I see Sam and Lucas in IN THE AFTERLIGHT? less

I felt like Sam's voice was way too similar to Ruby's :/
