review 1: I've read several stories like this one. So there wasn't really anything new here, but for whatever reason I liked it. A few questions/comments:When Amy goes with Max to the benefit place (I forgot what it was), why does she seem surprised when photographers are there and wanting to take their picture?Amy is thinking about the fact that Max hadn't said anything about her appearance. She ends up telling him he looks nice and he compliments her back. "Had it seemed like she was fishing for compliments? She wasn't, she was just being nice." I don't think so!What was with them practically making out at the benefit place?I noticed several errors, but thankfully nothing too major. So after drinking champagne, they go in for another kiss. Amy comments on how Max's breath "was hot ... moreand minty..." How was it minty?"Max brought his mouth down to her inner thigh, just above her right knee..." Does that make sense? How many sisters did Max have?Thankfully for Max nothing happened after Amy told her cousin Nicky they were dating. But why would she have done that in the first place? Why did Amy get so mad at Max when he asked her to move in with him? I didn't understand. She was still comparing his prior 'females' to herself, even though this would have been the first time he'd asked one of his 'females' to move in with him.Same thing goes with how Amy thought that Max "wasn't about to fall in love with her." Things are different! Lastly, Amy needs some time away from Max. Why does she go to a romantic bed and breakfast? That just seemed strange.
review 2: This is a classic romance tale of the handsome boss and his overlooked employee. I could imagine Doris Day playing the part. The boss needs a date for a special event and decides to pick his a hard-working accountant for the position. If you are as old as I am, you know how the tale goes. She gets gussied up, wows the guy and everything is clover, except for one annoying secret, hers. Her cousin just happens to be his major competitor. Cue evil ex-girlfriend who has a bone to pick. This was a predictable story, but sometimes I like predictable. It is pure romance. less
