review 1: When I read this book my first thoughts were about how creative of a story line it has. The story of the main character Honor and the rest of the characters in this "new world" keeps you on the edge of your seat. The futuristic way that the atmosphere the book takes place in is described uses great sensory details making it feel like your right there in the story. The one flaw in the book is that at some points I found it hard to understand who's point of view the story was being told from. But overall I thought it was a well written book that built up a lot of suspense by using strong characters and good descriptive words.
review 2: I really wanted to like this book. Honestly. The first few pages, with the twisted Pater Noster in worship of the government hook
... moreed me. However, this book let me down. The characters were flat. The MC, Honor, is thirteen through most of the book. She acted and thought like she was still ten. The adults were Predictable. All plot twists were unfounded. Around 3/4 I was a bit bored, but I was hooked enough to need to finish it. The unresolved ending was satisfying. less

The ending was okay, if not rushed, other then that it was a satisfying read.
