review 1: Meet Lucy and Solange. They are best friends. One of them is a vampire.I liked that Lucy and her family know about the Drakes and what they have to do on their sixteenth birthday. It meant that the entire book wasn't about how they had to hide from each other. I liked that Solange and Lucy were different. Lucy was the more in your face, going to kick your ass if you mess with me. Solange wasn't that confrontational and her kick ass ways were less and subtle. Their loyalty was amazing. They were willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that the ones that they cared about were safe.The kidnapped part didn`t happen until the end of the book and I enjoyed that. It meant that we got the important background information. I also loved that her brothers were annoying and prote... morective and sometimes, that makes me want an older brother.Can`t wait for the next one!
review 2: I liked this book a lot. Harvey based the story on Snow White and the 7 Dwarves, except it's about a family of vampires who get it passed down genetically on their 16th birthday. Solange has 7 older brothers, who are incredibly hot, and also very protective of her. There's a lot of stuff going on here with the vampire politics, slayers, other races of vamps, and an ancient prophecy. And, of course, romance. While I totally admit to eating this up, Hearts at Stake is pretty fluffy in the end. less
