review 1: GFY, but it seems Marcus always knew he wanted Charlie and only Charlie, so he kept busy with woman until it was time to share this little tidbit with his soulmate Charlie! I didn't quite get the not telling Charlie that he loves him and wants him, sometime in the last 10years, but it was romantic and sweet how much they loved each other, but and this was a big but for me, having Marcus treat everyone else, especially the woman in his life so callously didn't endear him to me or show me how much he loved Charlie.If I ignore that part of his personality, it was a cute, sweet story!
review 2: 2.5This was such a guilty pleasure. Still, it was a pleasure. I had to suspend my disbelief for this story. I wasn't expecting to have to do that but, hey, sometimes you jus... moret have to go with the flow.Say hello to Marcus, Charlie and Charlie's evil ex whose name I can't remember. We'll call him E.E. for the sake of this review. The story opens with Charlie waking up in the hospital after E.E. has beat the crap out of him. I liked Charlie right away. E.E. had hit Charlie before and Charlie decides when he wakes up that he's done with his evil ex. When Charlie wakes he tells that nurse that he wants Marcus. Enter Marcus. Marcus was an older boy who lived in Charlie's neighborhood who protected Charlie from bullies. Charlie has always had a serious crush on Marcus but thinks Marcus would be put off if he knew. Still, Charlie and Marcus have lunch together regularly and when Charlie wakes up he asks for Marcus who just happens to be a doctor.Marcus, Marcus, Marcus...you are bordering on stalker. Marcus has been in love with Charlie for a long time but he wanted to let Charlie grow up and experience life. When Charlie moves to a new city, well....Marcus follows. Marcus believes that he was born to love Charlie. This could have been really creepy but I was suspending my disbelief, remember? Marcus blows off the chick he was in bed with, throws her out of his apartment and rides off to rescue Charlie. The way Marcus treats the woman he's been dating for a while was cold-hearted. It was like that Paula Abdul song about cold-hearted snakes. But Charlie is Marcus' destiny.At this point, Charlie goes to stay with Marcus and the story gets crazy. My favorite part? Marcus goes to pick Charlie's stuff up from the apartment and runs into the evil ex. Marcus has his best dude, his pretty but badass friend, with him and the two of them bust in on the evil ex. Marcus beats the crap out of the guy and the pretty badass makes sure that Marcus doesn't kill anyone. I laughed because it was absurd but, yeah, I was still reading.This story had a lot in it. It was like a circus. There were almost stalkers, a beautiful artist, a pretty man who kicks much ass, the scary doctor, drugs, undercover police officers, an abduction and more. Amber Kell wrote a story that's mind-blowing in its absurdity.If you read this story make sure to suspend your disbelief and then be ready to go for a ride. I gave this a 2.5 but that doesn't mean it wasn't entertaining.P.S.: Miss Amber Kell, if you read this please let me know if there's going to be a story for Marcus' friend. I need for there to be a story about that dude. less
