review 1: Let me just say i found it to be completely unoriginal It had aspects fromCrewelThe Hunger Games WitherThe Selectionand any other bland dystopian you will ever readill not go into plot here but the authors marsh song wasn't even that original "Oh, love is handsome, love is charmingLove is beauty while its newBut love grows old and love grows colderAnd fades away like the morning dew"it reminds me of another song i sang once in choir called the water is wide"Oh love is handsome and love is finebright as a jewel when first it's newbut love grows old and waxes coldand fades away like the morning dew"is it just me or do those sound similar
review 2: No one seems to like this book. IT WASN'T THAT BAD (although I am easily amused by most things) I did get a very "Th... moree Selection" feel though. I am genuinely interested to read the next book. The world is pretty decent, the social structure and I love all the medical elements (the auguries, how certain genes can produce royalty) I loved that!The Insta Love? Could have been developed more. Otherwise I would have given this a much higher rating. This was decent and definitely promising. I was highly entertained and with that ending, pretty damn satisfied. Can't wait for the next one! 3.80 Stars less
