Forty years ago today a plane carrying the Lynyrd Skynyrd Band crashed near Gillsburg, MS.
I remember being in homeroom, my senior year in high at Watchung Hills Regional HS and John Pavlak coming in and announced the crash. It was a sad day.
Instead of posting a Skynyrd song, I decided to post this tribute by Henry Paul, formerly of The Outlaws.
The title track (live version) from one of my favorite albums. Rarely do you see a bass player solo. Jim Paczynski will appreciate it at 5:25.
Billy Crain really lets it loose on the guitar solo. Music, the way it used to be.
Music, the way it used to be. The way I like it.
