review 1: As usual, Amy Lane wrote a good story. It's just that I had no real interest in racing, so a large portion of this book held no real appeal to me. The characters were extremely well done, and I loved how broken they were (and how they tried to piece each other back together), but i couldn't seem to override my knee-jerk reaction that racing is fucking stupid and an awesome way to get yourself and other killed. But then again, I tend to react rather strongly to reckless driving after my accident a couple years ago. Nothing against the book, it just wasn't going to be something I enjoyed reading no matter what.However if you have no real problem with racing, you are probably going to love this book. So don't let me being a downer put you off.3.5 stars
review 2: 3... more,5 stars.That was a really good book! But I don’t rate books whether I think they are good, but how a book makes me feel. The writing was wonderful, I really like Amy Lane’s style. And boy, do I love the sex scenes she writes! This is definitely a story about Love with a capital L. The I-really-cannot-live-without-you LOVE. These two men were so emotionally scarred it scared the crap out of me sometimes. If you can take that kind of thing you are gonna love this book! But I need me some lovey-dovey romance in a story as well. And this was a heartbreaking love, but nothing lovey-dovey about it. I was grateful that there were no misunderstandings or stupid things between Ace and Sunny just to get the story going. It is a dark story, but the MC's were not trying to hurt each other, thank God!So if you like to read about the darker sides of life, this is the book for you. It is really good. Just not something I need at the moment. less
