review 1: I had no clue this was a religious YA book but started gettin' suspicious. But really, other than some preachiness at the end, it was a good read. There were moments when I truly was scared and others full of heart racing action. I liked the premise -- Is she or isn't she seeing demons? -- and you know what? I liked that the dad (a preacher) was a truly good guy and that there was no swearing. Yeah, it was mild as far as the crime/violence goes compared with non-religious YA books of this genre, and a bit cheesy, but so what.
review 2: I liked this book overall. I wish that it had been written a little older. The storyline was good though. It was an interesting, intriguing, and exciting read. I have to say I read it pretty fast. I won't say it didn't keep me wa... morenting to see what was on the next page throughout the entire book. I just wished it had been written a little different. That is my only complaint I think. Oh, I will also say that I really appreciated the lack of cursing and sexual garbage that is in so many of the books today. It was a relief to read something and just be able to enjoy the story without being interrupted by language. less
