review 1: This book is exactly what it says it is about. A teenager struggling with his sexuality, and he also has to fight giant praying mantises from taking over the world. Once I got used to the narrative style, it was a good read. That being said, I will probably never read this book again. I would very much like a male opinion on whether the main character's feelings are accurate - his hormones seem way out of control.
review 2: This book was shocking as expected but not necessarily in the ways I expected. The sexuality is there and that may bother some people. It is a constant "f" word, and they are not using it to cuss but to discuss it's action. That was a bit shocking and at times a little bit unnecessary (in my opinion) but the author sticks to his style of cha
... moreracter perspective. I think some kids may be enticed by the oddness of this book. However, some may stray because of the length of this book. It is quite hefty and a bit slow or repetitive at times. I really appreciated the dynamics of sexuality and the connections of relationships with both genders. less
