review 1: In this book Ghost Medicine a boy discovers the true secrets of life. After his brother's death and his mother's death he is forced to grow up with out any quetions asked. He faces day to day problems with ease, well that's what it seems like, until something life changing happens to him. I like the book because it has good plot and a twist for an ending. The only part I didn't like about the book was that it didn't give enough information about his mother.
review 2: Oddly enough, I loved this book. I really didn't expect to; I read it because I had a Literature Circle at school reading it and I needed/wanted to know what was happening. I was surprised at how invested I became in the characters, how moved I was by their struggles, and how desperately I wanted
... more to see everything be okay. "Ghost Medicine" is not an easy read; it's long; the plot has holes and gaps; there's ranching/horse knowledge and terminology... but it is well worth the struggle. And it is one of those rare books that I've had both girls and boys love. less
