Green Arrow Vol. V
review 1: When will someone get the memo that being a champion of the people and being broke don't have to go hand in hand. I realize that if you want to separate Green Arrow from Batman the money would be about the only place you could start, but let's face it, Green Arrow could not afford to do what he does if he were not a billionaire. It's lazy story telling and completely untrue toward the character. I don't care how many times they've pulled this before.
review 2: I love Jeff Lemire's work on Animal Man so when I heard he was also writing for Green Arrow, a series that peaked my attention after watching the Arrow television program, I immediately set out to get a copy. I've never read much Green Arrow however I recently read Green Arrow: Year One and Longbow Hun
... moreters which were both alright stories but they didn't sell me on the hero. With Lemire's take on the hero we are introduced to a great new villain, Komodo. The character's design is amazing; I'm hoping that Komodo will continue to return in future Green Arrow stories. Credit should be given to Andrea Sorrentino whose artwork I had to get use to at first but along with the coloration provides an amazing cinematic backdrop to Lemire's story. This story reminded me of the Immortal Iron Fist story by Matt Fraction and Ed Brubaker in terms of it's art and some aspects of the story. One panel was gorgeously rendered by Sorrentino which really illustrates the action kinetics. This story is definitely one to follow. less

Schizophrenic in both story and art.
