review 2: Even though the book was quite short, it was really coherent and compact. Gavalda did an amazing job with this one! Hardly ever have I read a short story this good. ... morend it didn't take Gavalda that many pages, which in itself is a miracle. I loved all the siblings and especially Garance as a narrator. Somehow her views on life and everything was so amazingly great. Carine was a nice counterpart to her by being the weirdo of the group in which she didn't even belong.I would've given five stars if the ending had been a bit more like an ending. Perhaps I was waiting for more contemplative stuff and the book almost got there. Almost. I also didn't get the "we must grow up and severe our ties", since when and why would you need to do that? Siblings are for life! less
