review 1: This is probably the best book I have ever read! If you want to get to know me I suggest you read it. I have always lived and breathed Paris and this book made me feel so at home. I learned how to be more stylish, care less and drink more wine. What is the art of being Parisienne? Being simple and unpredictable. Skinny jeans, simple heels, a white tee, minimum jewelry (unless it has meaning) a bright scarf, a large purse that never matches your outfit and, most importantly, a good trench coat. I am so pleased I found this book and can't wait to go back to Paris to enjoy it even more. The only part I disagree with is how it explains that marriage is unimportant and cheating on your boyfriend is okay. If I learned anything front his book though it's that it is okay to break ... morethe mold of Parisienne because that makes you even more Parisienne! Enjoy!!!
review 2: I honestly couldn't decide if this book was supposed to be satire or not. On the one hand I think it was poking fun at the whole "French Women" genre but in some other ways it was offering practical advice on how to live life like the "ideal French Woman" that has been created by the genre. In all actuality this just confused me,I didn't like a lot of the 'advice' and the book was a weird mixture of bullet point lists and short essays/anedotes. What I did like about the book were the photographs and illustrations, I thought they were beautiful and classic. I also really love the two pages that gave color swatches for the seasons, but besides this and the little bit of beauty advice, I didn't find anything else helpful or enjoyable about the book. If you really want to learn 'the art of being French' try Jamie Cat Callnan's books or 'Parisian Chic' by Ines de la Fressange, don't waste your time on this one! less

This was cute. Some of the advice was completely irrelevant, but it still interesting.

Not a deep read, but fun and witty.
