review 1: When a plague kills many of the people of Pern and a large number of the dragons, Xhinna and her blue dragon are sent to the past to train new dragons and dragon riders. Do do so she must overcome many obstacles both human and physical. Same gender sexual relation ions are prominent in this last work by McCaffrey. To me, the work did not have the same zing as previous novels of the series and I had to force myself to finish it..
review 2: This is better than the other collaborations has been. There was more actually action in this book than the proceeding books. This one is not all about Fiona and her strange relationships with everyone else. The problem though is that these characters are not as well formed as we would like. There are also some problems lo
... moregically with how the characters make decisions and what decisions they make. It may just be me but I really do not understand why the person in charge in this book is in charge. The only reason I can really see is that the authors wanted her to be. There is no real reason that I can see that in a real life situation that is remotely like this, this person would stay in charge once the more experienced riders show up. This is not a bad book, but it is not one of the best ones in the best Pern ones. less

Did the Dawn Sisters change orbit somewhere along the line? That's probably my biggest gripe.
