review 1: With “The Treasure of Kafur”, author Aroon Raman weaves a wonderful tale of fantasy filled adventure with lost treasure, talking animals, a race against time which involves a tortuous journey, a teenage boy’s journey to coming of age and more. As if this wasn’t good enough, he goes ahead and sets this narrative in Mughal India in a time when Akbar’s reign is possibly at its highest point. This book is truly a joy to read and will surely remind readers of books such as the Harry Potter ones and the Chronicles of Narnia series.
review 2: The treasure of kafur by aroon raman is written very expertly. The plot is good and i never got bored. This book has left me aching for more of dattu, the courageous and loyal dilawar khan, the beautiful princess ahliy
... morea who is deadly with her bow and arrows and the noble akbar who just has a large appetite for adventures. The characters are natural and you can easily feel connected with them even though there is a gap of 400 years between the time of the story and now. I just cant wait for the next book which i judge will be there due to the ending in this one. Read this book for sure thats my suggestion for everyone. There might be some confusing parts but you will never regret reading this. less

By far, one of the best historical novels I've read. Each twist in the plot is beautifully written.

A definite page turner, towards the end, it becomes "unputdownable".
