review 1: Review for Audio Version,Loved it. My first Barbara Freethy story.Terrific characters. And great narration for both male and female characters. Sandy Rustin. Her voice would only suit a certain type of story. And this one is that type. And to top it off, I felt like she was the characters on the cover. Seriously, she was perfect for it. Alexa & Braden and their story is romantic, funny and a little magical. I really enjoyed it.
review 2: The idea of first love revisited years later drew me in, but little things kept me from getting lost in this tale.First off, I was uncomfortable with the 12 y/o kids fall in love bit. I think the story would have made more sense if they had been a bit older, say 13 or better yet 14. I have a kid that age and in no way are they
... more ready for true passionate love at 12.Then there is the question of unresolved issues. Her relationship with her father, his pending divorce, her fear of commitment, his dark memories from the war, all these and more are brought up and then left hanging. I don't expect absolute resolution, but some effort to at least tackle something before the abrupt end would have been nice. The mystery part also started out intriguing but fizzled in the end. less

Started out as an optimistic read & then just turned cheesy.
