review 1: I'm not sure what exactly happened but I had a hard time getting into the story. It took me up until halfway through the book to really enjoy what I was reading. It felt like the author was introducing way too many characters in a short amount of time. I realize that this book is the introduction to Angel's Bay and the people that make it a great family oriented community, but it was a little too much.Saying that, I did enjoy Jenna, Lexie and Reid's story. I just wished there was more of them, but I'm hoping on seeing these characters in the next book(s) of the series.3.5/5
review 2: Çok severek, heyecanlanarak okuduğum bir kitap oldu Melek Öpücüğü. Normal bir kasaba hikâyesi ya da aşk hikâyesi değildi. Araya cinayet, gizem ve hatta paranormal ögele... morer katılmış çok güzel bir kitap ortaya çıkmış. Öncelikle şunu belirtmeliyim ki ben bu kasaba hikâyelerini çok sevmeye başladım. Çünkü sadece kitabın ana kahramanları değil diğer kahramanları da incelikle anlatılıyor. Örneğin bu hikâyenin esas karakterleri Jenna ve Reid olmasına rağmen en sevdiğim çift kesinlikle Joe ve Charlotte oldu! Onların hikâyesi için ne yazık ki 3 kitap daha okumak lazım ama o kitapların da çok iyi olduğuna eminim. Elimden düşüremedim kitabı!Kısaca konusundan bahsetmek istiyorum. Jenna, kızı/yeğeni Lexie ile birlikte meleklerle ilgili bir efsaneye sahip olan Melekler Koyu’na yerleşiyor. Jenna’nın kaçtığı birileri var ve Lexie’yi korumak için her şeyi yapmaya hazır. Bir gün marketten evine dönerken genç bir kızın kendisini okyanusa atarak intihar ettiğini görünce Jenna hiç düşünmeden atlayıp kızı kurtarıyor ve birden bire meleklerle ünlü olan bu kasabada adeta bir melek oluveriyor. Ancak Jenna bu durumdan rahatsız çünkü insanlar onu ne kadar tanırsa o kadar tehlikede olduklarını düşünüyor. Reid ise oldukça kötü olaylar yaşamış bir gazeteci. Çok yakın bir arkadaşının ölümünden sonra gazeteciliği bırakma noktasına gelmiş. Bir magazin dergisi için meleklerle ilgili bir makale yazmaya Melekler Koyu’na geliyor. Ancak daha ilk anda Jenna’nın bir şeyler sakladığını anlıyor ve araştırmacı ruhu ortaya çıkıveriyor. Reid Jenna’nın sırrını çözmeye çalışırken Jenna da ondan olabildiğince kaçmaya çalışsa da aralarındaki çekimden ötürü pek başarılı olamıyorlar. Favori çiftime gelirsem… Joe kasabanın baş komiseri. Charlotte ise kasabanın kadın-doğum doktoru. Joe evli ancak karısının işi nedeniyle beraber yaşamıyorlar ve birtakım sorunları var. Charlotte ise geçmişte birtakım yaralar almış. Her ne kadar Joe evli olsa da ikili engel olamadıkları şeyler hissetmeye başlıyor ancak tabi ki daha ilk kitap olduğu için bunları görmezden geliyorlar. Bakalım neler olacak!Ben seriyi şiddetle tavsiye ediyorum! ----I read Suddenly One Summer with a great joy and excitement. It is not a common small town-love story. A small town was blended with love, crime, mystery and paranormal things successfully. I have to admit that I started loving such small town stories because not only the main characters but also the other characters are told so elaborately. For instance, although Jenna and Reid were the main characters, my favourites were Joe and Charlotte! However, I have to read other 3 books to read their story. Anyway... I am pretty sure that the other books are also so good. I could not stop myself reading this book.I want to summarise this book a little bit. Jenna and his daughter/nephew Lexie started living in Angel’s Bay which has a legend about the angels. There were some people who Jenna ran away from and she was ready to do anything to save Lexie. One day, when she went back to home, she saw a girl who committed suicide by jumping into the ocean. Jenna jumped into the ocean without any hesitation to save the girl and she immediately became a kind of an angel in this town because of her bravery. She did not like this reputation because she thought that the more they are known, the more they are in danger. On the other hand, Reid was a popular journalist who faced terrible things in his past. After his closest friend’s death, he quitted his job. However, he started working again to survive and as a new job, he went to Angel’s Bay to write an article about angles for a tabloid. At first sight, he understood that Jenna hid something and his curious soul awoke again after a long time. While he was trying to find her secrets, Jenna tried to run away from him. However, both of them could not be successful because of the feelings between them. As I said before, Joe and Charlotte were my favourite couple. Joe is sheriff of Angel’s Bay and Charlotte is a gynaecologist. Joe is married but he does not live with his wife because of his wife’s job and they have some problems. Also Charlotte is not a very happy person because of her past. Although Joe is married, they started feeling something. However, they do not accept these feelings and ignore them of course. I really wonder what will happen!I strongly recommend it! less
