review 1: The illustrations are colorful and interesting. I could see a young student finding this book humorous. In the story a fox takes a chicken from his group of friends and runs away. The friends of the chicken then begin their journey to get their friend back. After finally finding the fox and the chicken they have found that they are now friends and the chicken is protecting the fox. In the end they all end up getting along and being friends. In the classroom I could relate this to students by asking them if one of their friends ever started hanging out with different people that they didn't know. I could then use the story to show them that they can meet new people through friends of friends. I could have the students compare this moral or idea to other texts or movi... morees and see if they could come up with any other things that send a similar message. I could then have students talk about how they could meet new people and become friends with others. I believe students would enjoy this story and the message. This could especially be a good idea to use with kindergarten students that are shy and nervous about coming to school.
review 2: All agesThis wordless book shows the story of fox that is stolen from his house. His friends, a bear, a rabbit, and a rooster, follow the fox, but are unable to catch them until the fox and chicken end up at a little house on an island. When the bear, rabbit, and rooster, finally catch the fox it turns out the chicken wants to stay with the fox. Wordless books are a great way to encourage children to make up stories. Children can make up what the animals are saying, or the back story to the story such as why the fox decided to steal the chicken. less

Another wordless picture book, I like it, but I like Fox and Hen together a little better.

Lovely book without words which turns expectations upside down and examines stereotypes.

A book about Stockholm syndrome. That's the only way I can describe it.
