review 1: I liked this more than the second in the series but it was still preachy enough to get on my nerves and require skimming over many a paragraph/page/chapter. This book was better than the second simply because more stuff actually happened in the story. As with his other books, I really feel like Mr. Behunin had a message to share and just came up with a simple story to tell it. That being said, I still really like Niederbipp and enjoy fantasizing about there actually being such a place I could visit. I don't know that I'd offer a high recommendation to anyone about these books, but they are definitely "nice."
review 2: Well, I've read the Niederbipp books now. Last night I just stayed up to finish this last one off, I was ready to move on. Overall I have mixed f... moreeelings for this series. I like what the author intends to do, but the books were seriously in need of some editing. If I had owned the copy I had been reading, I may have started marking it up with a red pen. So in essence, I liked the message, which is delivered as subtle as a sledgehammer over the head repeatedly, but the execution was a little painful. less
