review 1: Received an ARC from NetGalley for an honest review. This new "New Adult" category is still a little odd to me. There's a fine line between YA and romance and that's exactly where this falls, but every time they mention Becca being 18, I'm reminded that the author has to say that because of the graphic nature of the story. At the same time, both Becca and Scott are very immature, both in the way their dialogue is written and the way their thoughts are written. Each is dealing with their own demons, but neither is really willing to talk about it. Becca has serious daddy issues, no matter how many times she says she doesn't, and Scott wants Becca to trust him but doesn't tell her this huge part of his life. You can tell that even though they've been through a lot, the odds of... more this relationship making it past the puppy love stage aren't great. That being said, I enjoyed the story and the journey they went on, but I wish it was a little more well written.
review 2: This book was okay. I didnt' feel the world shift or feel the need to consume in one sitting but it was okay. Scott and Rebecca have a past and due to lack of communication, they break up and spend a year apart. Now Scott wants her back and will do whatever he has to, to get her back. I found out that this was the second (stand alone) in the series. Does that make it different because I felt like I wanted more to them? I'm not really sure. less

Cute short story. I enjoy books that branch off from other books to explore different characters.
