4 of 5 stars to London’s Perfect Scoundrel by Suzanne Enoch ★★★★
As much as I love “The Rake,” I gotta say London’s Perfect Scoundrel is even better. Generally, what made me love this story more than the first in the series is because of the leads’ crackling chemistry. Saint and Evie felt so good together that the pages come alive whenever they are together.
Saint is the definite opposite of his moniker. He might just as well be called devil for his philandering ways, ungentlemanly manners and zero regard for propriety. Evie, on the other hand, seems like a daisy, white and pure and beautiful but strong and resilient. She gets trampled on a lot but slowly learns to stand up for herself. The contrasting personalities made these two so compatible.
I love how Evie and Saint helped each other grow. With the help of one another, they overcame their fears, improved their weaknesses and further enhanced their strengths. More than just the sexual compatibility, these two have proven that even when they are at different ends of the stick, they could still meet halfway by making improvements and sacrifices. I love how they accepted each other, flaws and all, but ultimately changed their character because they wanted to be better for the person they love. A love that grows and learns is a love worth fighting for.
