review 1: This book was ups and downs and in betweens for me. It took me a good 70-80 pages to get into the story.Recommend: Historical Romance that is a borrow from the library or friend. Great for and in between book.Things I liked:*It shows that love and hate are a closer emotion than you think.*Great ending where the guy gets the girl.*Love Thomas's mother. She helped mellow the book out.*I also loved Thomas's sister Missy and her hubby Rutherford. There were many funny scene's at their home.Things that annoyed me:*Amelia and Thomas run hot and cold. It was hard to follow their emotional tennis match.*Amelia was a little to head strong and Thomas lied to himself too often.*Slow plot, but predictable once it got started.*Could have cut out Louisa's part enti... morerely.
review 2: I received this book from Goodreads in a giveaway.I absolutely adored A Taste of Desire; it is a wonderful historical romance. It is really well written and so extremely addictive, that it is hard to put it down even for a moment. The characters were really interesting and it was excellent that both perspectives were shown, this was especially good because of their uncomplimentary views of each other in the beginning and it meant that both of their actions were understandable, when if seen just from the other side the reasons for their actions wouldn’t have been obvious. On that note, it was also great to see a historical romance novel with such a strong heroine. Also it was good that it wasn’t just the main characters that were really interesting, as there was also heaps of interesting side characters, and this really made what would have been a good book into a great book. Even though the whole book was fantastic, the best part is without a doubt the relationship that develops between the main characters, especially since the two of them had such great chemistry. All historical romance fans should give A Taste of Desire a read, as from the first page A Taste of Desire hooks readers in and makes it impossible to put down. It is without a doubt one of the best historical romance novels that I have ever read. less

Wasn't too enamoured of the heroine at first. But she got easier to like towards the end.
