review 1: I was not interested in all the battle maneuvers, though if one is, the authors provide many maps to help one visualize the movements of the various forces. I was interested in the vignettes of the various soldiers, and generals, reacting to particular situations. One knows that war is not glamorous etc., but it is good for us to have some idea of what people, civilians and soldiers, were going through. However, the section that goes into Patton's death is very short and unresolved. I'm not sure why the title focuses on this as we get little details or even much in the way of speculations of who planned it, how it was done, alternate theories etc.
review 2: Excellent book. Very interesting. I didn't want to put this book down. I have enjoyed all of Bill O'R
... moreeiily's books, Killing Lincoln, Killing Kennedy, Killing Jesus and now Killing Patton. Mr. O'Reilly does a lot of research on his subject matter, that you understand and know that you are reading a factual account of events that happened. Can't wait for his next book to come out. Who is next on his agenda? less
