review 1: Such a good book. Possibly a little slow to get into, which is what I tend to find a lot with Sanderson's books. But once it got going I got really into it. Particularly part 2. Found it very difficult to put down once I reached the last couple hundred pages. The story, as always, was fantastic. The plot was good, and the 'environment' the story was in was really good. Got a little confused about locations and such every now and then, maybe a more clear map/more of them at the start would have helped? I think there were explanations given in the book, but with 1000+ pages it's difficult to remember all the finer details. The characters were good too, to start with I found it a little difficult to like them, which again is often the case for me with Sanderson, but I had ple... morenty of time to develop an attachment to them. Can't wait to read the next book, when my budget allows!
review 2: This is part 2 of The Way Of Kings, but this review/my thoughts will be of the whole book.FANTASTIC, MARVELOUS, ENJOYABLE, STUNNING OUTSTANDING. I absolutely loved The Way Of Kings by Brandon Sanderson. The plot, the characters and THE WORLDBUILDING. I have never read a book that actually manages to make all these elements so perfect and just so incredibly beautiful. I loved every single part about the worldbuilding. From the mythology (yes, Brandon Sanderson created a really complex mythology ALL BY HIMSELF) to the magical systems, everything was just so perfect. Brandon Sanderson has put so much work, focus and dept into the worldbuilding that it just blew my mind. He's so creative and actually uses really rich and original ideas that kept me hanging. The characters in this book are epic, dramatic, badass and well-crafted. You get so invested with all of the characters in this book and you end up loving all of them, even with their noticeable flaws.Plot of this book? One word: Outstanding. I have never been more captivated or interested in a book like I have with The Way Of Kings. It does however take some time for you to finally grasp the concept and the plot of this book (300+ pages maybe). At parts it could be slow because of the mythology and the philosophy, but in the end it was AWARDING to go through with it. When the plot gets going however, it's properly awesome and mind-blowing. Overall, this book is a freaking masterpiece. This book is fantasy at it's best and I highly encourage EVERYONE that loves a book with a great story arc, loveable characters and a mind-blowing world building should read this NOW! less
