review 1: In 1963 Spider Man (or Stan Lee) declared "with great power comes great responsibility." What if those who received great power felt the exact opposite? They would be the Epics of Brandon Sanderson's world. In this world it is those without power who feel the responsibility and a small group--the Reckoners--take on the Epics to reclaim the world. Very well done. I can't wait for the next one!
review 2: This is a bit different than Sanderson's normal style. Seems to be heavily inspired by comics. Set in a distopian future, where superheroes rule America with an iron fist. The ending is predictable but there are a couple nice twists in there. The requisite romance in the novel could have been better written. It was still a fun book, but it didn't draw me int... moreo the world quite as much as some other novels. less
